The work of Offene Arme has been made possible through the efforts of short and long-term volunteers, and the contribution of individual supporters and organisations from around the world.
This support has been invaluable to Offene Arme, as well as ensuring that the situation continues to be in the public eye. Offene Arme’s voluntary helpers come from all around the world, approaching each other as equals and engaging in important conversations. To allow Offene Arme to fulfill needs, we have the ability to adapt to any situation that arises.
Offene Arme has been working alongside individual supporters and organizations from Chios, Europe and all around the world. We also collaborate with the authorities on the island and all our volunteers are officially registered at arrival.
We regularly meet with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and other Chios NGOs to share updates about what is happening in Chios and to fund out more about the situation elsewhere.
The work we do is only possible due to the generosity of donors and suppliers from around the world.
