Free Shop and Warehouse Coordinator 

We are looking for an open-minded, flexible and stress resistant person to join our coordination team as soon as possible, happy to work in a small and diverse team of volunteers and able to adapt to an ever-changing environment.

Two Distribution Warehouse Coordinators work closely with and report to the  Field Coordinator. They share responsibility for the management of the free shop, other distributions, daily operations of the warehouse, supplies  management of volunteers, and the maintenance of a safe environment for all users of the building and surrounding outdoor area. 

Length of Appointment: Minimum 4 months

Benefits: Free accommodation, €375 per month expenses allowance, one week off in 3 months

Please note that all coordinators are subject to a two week induction period as a volunteer when they begin. During this time you will be required to find your own accommodation. 

Free accommodation and the monthly allowance will begin at the end of this induction period which includes one week in the organisation as a general volunteer followed by a one week handover. The introductory period will continue for a further 3 weeks while all training and inductions are completed.

– Working in our Free Shop and Side Shop serving refugees and asylum seekers in Chios;

– Sorting donations at the warehouse and sending supplies to other organisations;

– Undertaking distributions of necessary items outside of Vial camp (depending on capacity and availability)

The situation on Chios is constantly changing, so our projects may be slightly different when you come to volunteer.

Regarding volunteers, we request:

– Fluency in English;

– Flexibility to help wherever is needed;

– Ability to work in teams and ensure a safe and comfortable working space.
